JOY MARGETTS AUTHOR
My writing journey started only four years ago when I wrote my first novel The Healing during lockdown. I believe God gave me the outline of the story – of a wounded knight and his unlikely monk rescuer – but the healing journey my characters were to go on was based very much on my own experience. Over a number of years I lived through a very difficult season, that challenged my faith to the core. During that time God revealed many truths to me, and reminded me of the promises contained in His Word. These things I poured into that original story in order to inspire hope in others. A publisher read it and loved it, a miracle in itself.
Today I have three published novels, and a fourth on its way. All were inspired by characters from that first novel. The Pilgrim, my second novel, deals with issues of forgiveness, particularly self forgiveness, and The Bride focusses on the love that God has for us, which far surpasses human love. The Stranger, my latest novel, is available for pre-order. It explores how we respond when everything we thought about God is challenged, in the face of suffering.
In the midst of writing my novels, I also produced an Advent Devotional last year based on the names and titles of Jesus in scripture. Christ Illuminated was published by Kevin Mayhew and contains 24 short meditations with scriptures to read. I have also produced a Journal based on my book, The Healing. My shop has more information on all of my books.
