Hi! I’m Lucy from HeartfeltbyLucy, I create a variety of cute hand-sewn decorative felt dolls, teddies & miniature teddy bears in matchboxes. I work from my home in North Wales, where live with my family and 2 cats!
I have been running my little shop on Etsy for about 6 years, during that time I lost my mum and have struggled with grief. My faith in Jesus has meant I have not walked this path alone.
Something I have felt very challenged about as I have been working through my grief is 2 Corinthians 1 v 4, God comforts us in our troubles so that we can comfort others. So, I hope that I can encourage others who may also be struggling, and provide products that people can gift to those in their lives who they want to encourage. Pointing their loved one to Jesus for strength & comfort.

My items are made using wool blend felt, a material i enjoy working in as it simple to use and creates great items. I also love giving my items a slightly rustic feel by using kraft card matchboxes and labels, with freehand stamped lettering on the labels, these messages could be a simple greeting or an inspiring Bible verse.
My little matchbox bears are my most popular items, especially my panda. They make beautiful gifts and fit perfectly in a pocket, a hug in a pocket! . I think they would also make great stocking fillers!
I am currently working on some new embroidered matchbox bears, to be revealed at the Christian Christmas Craft Fair!!
My dolls are “ beauty from ashes” project, trying to turn my grief into something beautiful that can bring joy to others. Isaiah 61v3 “ “...to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair”
Lula-Jo Dolls is also a tribute to precious women who have loved me and inspired me with their strength & faith but are now gone. Lula-Jo is a blend of my name, with my mum's name, Sheila, and Jo was my grandma, Josie. Both were taken by cancer, which is why I have chosen to make donations from the sale of these dolls to The Eve Appeal, a charity dedicated to researching and fighting women's cancers.

He comes in a little matchbox with a gift label so you can include your own personal message or Bible verse.
The teddy is made using wool blend felt, He has been fully hand sewn. He is stuffed with recycled toy stuffing. His face has been carefully embroidered and a safety eye has been used. As finishing details, he has a small felt love heart on her leg. The panda measures 6cm from head to toe.
