Hello! I’m Karen from Harlequin Arts. I create colourful textile art from my garden studio in Derbyshire near to the Peak District, and then design cards, posters and creative resources for prayer using photographs of my original art.
I enjoy creatively enabling faith, ministry & communities through delivering creative workshops, retreats and resources for prayer.

Most of my stitched artwork is inspired by Scripture or the exploration of the wonderful everyday that we often take for granted, constantly providing us with lessons for living when we stop to notice and listen to God. Stitching artwork helps me to pray, so my products are also designed with prayerful contemplation in mind.

My new “Contemplating Herbs” postcard set explores twenty different herbs, each with a colourful print of my original textile art on one side and things to ponder on the back- perfect to gift to a friend who loves nature, cooking or gardening.
Also new this year are “The Words to Live by” series of postcards- little landscapes with a wider perspective- perfect for framing or propping up on the handmade wooden postcard holder to contemplate & swap each day. All my postcards are designed to last- for individual devotional use, or leading home groups, quiet days and retreats.

The “Names of Jesus” prayer cards can be used over any month as prayerful daily devotionals but are also the ideal way to mark Advent- one card for each day of the month.
Every card has a name of Jesus written on the front, illustrated with a beautiful original art print. On the reverse are prayerful ponderings and a verse from Scripture to enhance your prayer time. They are one of my most popular products and can be used each year as they come in a card box with a suggestion card of the range of ways in which you can use them.
